Guest Portal Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and related browser storage used by the Plus Hotels S.A. Guest Portal. The portal currently uses operational storage only. It does not use marketing or analytics cookies in its current implementation.

Last updated: 4 May 2026

Key Point

The main reservation-device cookie is strictly necessary for the Guest Portal service you requested. It helps the portal recognize the same device for the same reservation, keep the stay-specific consent record aligned with that device, and avoid repeating the same gate on each page load during the stay.

Cookies Used by the Guest Portal

Storage item Type Purpose Duration
Reservation device identifier cookie Strictly necessary cookie Recognizes the device for the active reservation, supports the server-side Guest Portal privacy/cookie acknowledgement record, and suppresses repeated portal prompts during the stay. Until checkout date at 12:00 noon local time

Related Browser Storage Used by the Portal

Storage item Where it lives Purpose Required or optional
Startup recovery marker localStorage Helps the portal clean up legacy service-worker state and avoid repeated recovery loops after an update. Operational / required for stable app behavior
Reload and install-dismiss markers sessionStorage Tracks one-time reload protection and install-banner dismissal during the current browser session. Operational / convenience
Service worker and cache storage Browser cache and service-worker storage Supports the app shell, update handling, and cleanup of obsolete guest portal assets. Operational / required for the installed web app experience
Push subscription data Browser push and notification storage Enables optional notifications when hotel staff updates one of your assistance requests. Optional, only if you enable notifications

Strictly Necessary vs Optional Functionality

Strictly necessary for the requested guest service

The reservation-device cookie and related operational storage are used so the Guest Portal can function for the reservation you opened. This includes device continuity, service stability, and recognition of your mandatory privacy/cookie acknowledgement during the stay.

Optional notifications

Browser push notifications are optional. If you choose to enable them, your browser creates a push subscription and the portal stores the corresponding notification context so staff updates can reach your device even when the app is closed.

What Happens if You Block or Remove These Items

If you block or remove the strictly necessary reservation-device cookie or the related operational storage used by the Guest Portal, the portal may no longer recognize the device for the active reservation. You may be asked to acknowledge the notice again, and some continuity or installed-app behaviors may not work as expected.

Removing optional notification permissions will not stop the core portal from loading, but it will stop closed-app assistance notifications from reaching your device.

Browser Controls

Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies and local storage. Browsers and mobile operating systems also let you manage notification permissions. Because the main Guest Portal cookie is used for the requested reservation service, restricting it may affect portal availability or continuity during your stay.
